Today was a day of work in Batam again. I really felt very glad to be on this trip with my female colleagues, CW and JS. One thing is I don't need to be 'excluded' from Hokkien conversations, which I totally don't understand. And a good time to understand one another and some girl talk. Yeah! (All 3 of us are unmarried, the 2 of them are single but Not available). They are very beautiful and friendly, the best girlfriends ever.
As usual, upon our arrival at the Batam Sekupang Ferry terminal, our company driver would pick us up with a mini bus. It's white in colour and looks like a superstar's personal van (hee, I'm exaggerating)..
5 minutes into the journey to our Batam factory, I saw several traffic policemen stopping the vehicles and diverting them into a narrow road, where they conducted roadchecks.
"Scared got bomb, meh? Hahaha.." we joked.
That was the first time any of us came across such a situation.
*still driving like a snail*
STOP!!!!
Uh-oh.
Mr. Driver (a tanned, thin Chinese man in his 50s) got off our mini-bus to open the back door of the van, while 2 officers began their questioning and checking.
SPOT CHECK - - -
We girls didn't have to get off, but the officer entered our vehicle and demanded each of us to show him all the contents in our bags. Eeks.
End of Spot check.
Happily, Mr. Driver climbed back to his seat and drove off, feeling rather pissed off..
[The Back Door Left Open]
I was the 1st to discover it. OMG, it was so funny.. The door left open, and it bobbed up and down as we were moving (It opens from bottom-up). And we could see a clear view of the vehicles behind us.
"STOP! Please Stop! Aiya, door, door!!"
Mr. Driver temporarily shifted his attention off the road in front and saw the back door open, with all of us giggling..
What a day!
